What is the Same-Day Flight Change Rules?
A Same Day Delta Airlines Ticket Change Policy is a request to switch to an earlier flight that you make within 24 hours of when you were supposed to leave. Online check-in and the Fly Delta app both allow for same-day modifications, but only if there are spaces available.
When you make adjustments on the same day, you have two choices based on Delta Airlines Flight Change Policy:
SAME-DAY CONFIRMED
You can move to a confirmed seat on a new flight if you bought a seat in Delta Main or Delta Comfort, as long as there is space in your original fare class. Delta Main Basic (Basic Economy) tickets are not included.
• You can move to a confirmed seat on a new flight if you bought a seat in Delta First, Delta Premium Select, or Delta One® and there is room in the cabin.
• The price for Same-Day Confirmed is $75 USD.
• Same Day Confirmed is free for Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion Members, as well as for Extra and refundable tickets (see Terms & Conditions).
SAME DAY STANDBY
You might have to wait for a seat on an earlier flight than the one you purchased if the Same Day Confirmed option isn’t available.
• You don’t have to pay anything for Same Day Standby.
• Your original flight will be confirmed until you get a seat on an earlier flight under Delta Airlines Same Day Flight Change.
How to Cancel a Non-Refundable Ticket
You can cancel your ticket for an eCredit minus any cancellation penalties if your plans change and you bought a ticket that can’t be changed. You can’t get your money back for Classic and Basic tickets. Make sure to cancel your flight before you leave. Tickets that are not modified or canceled before the trip will no longer be worth anything.
How to Cancel a Non-Refundable Ticket
1. Go to delta.com and click on “My Trips.” Then click on “Need to Cancel?”
2. Click “Start Flight Cancellation”
3. Finish the cancelation procedure by following the rest of the instructions.
There are several sorts of tickets that don’t charge a cancellation fee, like:
• Delta Main Classic and higher tickets for travel inside the US, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands
• Delta Main Classic and higher tickets for travel from the US and Canada to anywhere in the globe, including flights run by joint venture and codeshare partners
• Delta Main Basic (Basic Economy) tickets are not included.
If you cancel, you’ll get an eCredit for the rest of your ticket value, minus the cancellation penalties. Unless your ticket terms say otherwise, your eCredit will be good for one year from the date of purchase.
Request a 24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation
As part of our Customer Commitment for customers who book directly on delta.com or the Fly Delta app, Risk-Free Delta Airlines 24 Hour Flight Change Rule means that you can cancel your qualifying eTicket for any reason within 24 hours of booking and get a full refund with no costs.
How to Cancel Risk-Free
1. Go to My Trips or Find Your Trip and click on it.
2. Choose the trip you want to cancel
3. Click the icon that says “Need to Cancel?”
4. Click “Start Flight Cancellation” and follow the procedures.
5. Get your money back in full, which will be sent back to the same payment method you used to make the purchase.
Delta will give you your money back for your ticket if you cancel it within 24 hours of buying it. However, certain banks or credit card companies may put a hold on the money in your account. We suggest that you get in touch with the company that issued your card to find out what Delta Airlines Flight Change Policy are.
Flight Changes & Cancellations Rules
Since we know your plans can change, you can change or cancel your flight online before you go through Delta Airlines Manage Booking Change services. Go to My Trips before your trip and change your flight(s) whenever you want.
Here’s something you should know: after the 24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation Period ends, some tickets may cost money to cancel or offer no changes.
To change or cancel a ticket you got from a third-party travel site or agency, please get in touch with your travel agent.
There are fees for Same-Day Confirmed Silver Medallion Members, General SkyMiles Members, and people who are not members.
The Same-Day Delta Airlines Flight Change Fee is $75 USD if your flight request is qualified for Same-Day Confirmed.
