You need to keep in mind that if the new fare is placed at a higher value, then you will have to pay the difference in the amount. The changes are also subjected to availability.

Qantas change fee

Tickets issued via Qantas Airlines are subject to change fees depending on the ticketed fare rules. Remember that these change fees do not include any Qantas or Travel Agent service fees.

Whenever you make any changes to your flight, change fees will be applicable. In case of domestic tickets, Qantas change fee will be applicable per customer, per ticket and the level to be charged is as follows:

  • For the first change made on a domestic ticket, the fee charged is that fee which was applicable on the date of original ticket issue.
  • For any subsequent changes on a domestic ticket, the fee charged is the fee which was applicable on the date of the most recent reissue.

In all cases where a change of fees is applicable, the ticket has to be reissued, and the change fee has to be receipted separately from the ticket using EMD-S which must be:

  • Raised at the time of reissue
  • Issued per customer
  • Be cross-referenced to the new ticket number
  • Show the GST component, when applicable, separately as ‘UO’

In case, different Qantas domestic fares have been combined on a ticket, the following rules regarding the change fee will be applicable:

  • If a change is being made to more than one Qantas fare component in a single transaction, then the highest or what we can say the most restrictive of the change fees for the changed components will be applicable to the entire transaction.

In case of changes in international tickets, the Qantas change booking fee will be applicable. In case of international tickets as well, where a change fee is applicable, the ticket has to be reissued, and the change fees has to be receipted differently from the ticket using EMD-S which must be:

  • Raised at the time of reissue
  • Be cross-referenced to the new ticket number
  • Issued per customer

Another thing which you must keep in mind is that when different Qantas fares are combined on a ticket, the following rules for change fee application will be applied:

  • If any change is made to only one fare component, the applicable fee will be applied.
  • In case a change has been made to more than one Qantas fare component in a single transaction, the highest or the most restrictive change fee will be applicable.
